The AGB Packboat is designed for recreational rowers who want an easy-to-carry, easy-to-use, superior rowing performance rowboat that combines stability with a long glide. Like the Vermont Fishing Dory, our Packboat is a scaled-down, beautifully shaped boat known for its versatility. Our unique design marries a sharp waterline with a wide flat keel, symmetrically concaved bilges, and a hard chine.
Description
We build every Vermont Packboat with a hybrid Kevlar®/GRP composite hull, trimmed with select cherry wood. Our Packboat includes three cherry caned seats, one cherry caned backrest for the stern seat, and one cherry caned backrest with adjustable leather straps that move between the bow and center seat, one cherry footrest, Okume floorboards, one set of brass oarlocks, two composite skid plates, and our custom-made 7′ cherry oars.
The Vermont Packboat is a speedy little seaworthy craft. It is a boat that inexperienced rowers can handle with confidence, and experienced rowers find simply delightful. It is light enough for almost anyone to carry or easily transport. It’s a perfect boat for carrying into wilderness lakes. Our Vermont Packboat is a very agile, fast, safe, and seaworthy boat that, above all, is easy to row. Fitness rowers, add a sliding seat.
